Makmak.lt’s revamped booking system offers a seamless and intuitive reservation experience, allowing clients to easily select services, choose locations, and book appointments with minimal effort.

Project Objective

The goal was to design a seamless and intuitive booking system for Makmak, a spa offering traditional Thai and aromatherapy massages in Vilnius. The platform needed to accommodate various massage types, durations, and locations, while providing a smooth user experience for clients seeking relaxation services.

Challenges & Constraints
  1. Service Variety: Makmak offers a diverse range of massages, including aromatherapy, deep relaxing, neck/shoulder/back, foot, four-hands, and traditional Thai massages. Each service has different durations and price points, requiring a flexible booking system.

  2. Multiple Locations: With two spa locations in Vilnius, the system needed to allow users to select their preferred location and view available time slots accordingly.

  3. User Experience: Ensuring the booking process was straightforward and user-friendly, minimizing friction and potential drop-offs.

  4. Mobile Optimization: Given the increasing use of mobile devices for online bookings, the system needed to be fully responsive and easy to navigate on smartphones and tablets.

Solution & Approach
  1. Service Selection Interface. The booking system presents users with a clear list of available massage services, each with detailed descriptions, duration options, and pricing. This allows clients to make informed decisions based on their preferences and needs.

  2. Location and Time Slot Filtering. Users can choose their preferred spa location (Aludarių or Paupys) and view available time slots for their selected service. This feature ensures that clients can easily find a convenient appointment time at their chosen location.

  3. Intuitive Booking Flow. The booking process is streamlined into a few simple steps: selecting a service, choosing a location, picking a time slot, and entering personal details. This minimizes complexity and enhances the user experience.

  4. Mobile-First Design. The system is designed with a mobile-first approach, ensuring that the booking process is smooth and efficient on all devices. This caters to the growing number of users who prefer to make reservations on their smartphones.

  5. Confirmation and Reminders. Upon booking, users receive a confirmation email with their appointment details. Automated reminders are sent prior to the appointment to reduce no-shows and ensure clients are prepared for their visit.

Impact

The redesigned booking system has significantly improved the user experience for Makmak’s clients. It has streamlined the reservation process, reduced booking errors, and increased overall customer satisfaction. Early analytics indicate higher conversion rates and a decrease in abandoned bookings, demonstrating the effectiveness of the new system.
